Honestly, they look so fragile and sort of defenceless, but they have such a strong perfume, about to knock you off your feet!

It's too hot to do much out there right now. I did fill in some blank spots left behind by stuff that got blasted by the hot inland empire sun. Now I have cosmos perking up the small rose bed and periwinkles in the herb bed. Just because. The black knight buddleia is bringing in the gulf fritillaries and hummers, with help from the mystic spires salvia. Four o'clocks vie with morning glories for beauty at opposite ends of the day. Even the roses have decided to wake up and put on another show. I've got tons of Yves Piaget blooms right now, with bouquets in the garden and in the livingroom. The yarrow and plumbago are going nuts, hence today's pictures.
